The Vipers are a New Orleans style brass band, originally formed in 2003 for the Mardi Gras season. Over the years they have mostly played on or around the annual Mardi Gras festivities with a rotating cast of musicians. They have been fortunate to have a powerhouse line-up of horn players, percussion, keys, and blossoming new talent grace the stages of our performances. Proud to be the only known Brass Band to grow from Central Valley soil, they're spreading the Viper City experience through Fresno and the surrounding areas. They grew up with traditional Jazz, Dixieland, Bebop, Funk, Classical and Big Band Jazz as their influences, but with most of their members are involved with other local bands and projects. The resulting sound is an eclectic fusion that will keep the party going, put a groove in you, and one you won't soon forget.

RAY MOORE

5:30PM
It wasn't until fairly recently that drummer, Ray Moore determined he could do more than provide the rhythm for bands he worked with. Faced with having to fill in for a missing singer at a gig, the smooth-voiced drummer and music director added "vocalist" to his host of titles and impresses on all fronts. Expect a balanced dose of R&B, soul, jazz and funk when he graces the stage. Ray's band "The Experience" is prominent on the Fresno music scene and is a fixture at several venues in the city.

JEANETTE HARRIS
7:00PM
Jeanette Harris was born and raised in Fresno in the center of the San Joaquin Valley. Reared by her mother, Annette, and her church organist father, Floyd Harris – both of deep spiritual faith and intense believers in the art of music - Jeanette and her older brother, Michael, received their love of God and family genetically.
“When I was 5, my father put a guitar in my hands,” Jeanette begins. “A year later, he switched me to piano with a private teacher. I didn’t like it. Reading treble and bass clefs was so overwhelming that I would cry, but it gave me a great jumpstart. One day while driving me to 4th grade, Mom was playing a cassette by Grover Washington, Jr. I remember looking at the picture of his alto sax. It was beautiful and Grover made it look so hip. I felt it would be the perfect instrument for me.” Read Full Bio... JeanetteHarrisBand.com |
